Messy Church

This is a developing network of training & resourcing - including a growing number of books, a DVD and free material that can be downloaded from their website. The resources are full of ideas and both theological & practical reflections that can be picked out or adapted for use in rural church contexts; they are good for mixing with what is already working well. Local training can be provided, and a helpful national network of 'messy churches' and practitioners is spreading. The underlying ethos is drawing non churchgoing members of local communities into non-threatening encounters with the Good News. Of particular relevance for rural situations is the emphasis the organisers are laying on small churches, local groups of churches and ecumenical working.
The Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF) have a dedicated web-page where you can search all the Messy Church resources that can be purchased. Many of these are now in downloadbale form, including all or part of the Messy Church DVD.
