Rural Officers Resources

Part of the work of the National Rural Officers for the Church of England, Methodist & United Reformed Churches who are based at the Arthur Rank Centre is to equip the wider ecumenical network of church Rural Officers (click here for the Rural Officers Network page).

This involves a variety of things, including an annual two-day meeting with one or two speakers providing input on significant areas of contemporary relevance for the work of the Rural Officers and the churches & communities they serve. At other times, important resources are circulated amongst the network.

This page exists to keep all those resources (speakers’ notes, PowerPoint presentations, other documents etc.) in one place and easily accessible for Rural Officers. The most recent three or four resources will be provided on this page directly, while all resources from the ARC – past or present – are available by using the more comprehensive “Search” option here.

Rev’d Nick Read also produces occasional Agricultural Briefing papers, which cover issues of contemporary significance for those involved in agricultural chaplaincy & rural life. They also provide a helpful summary of crucial agricultural issues for people outside the immediate circle of rural support.
