In 2015 we launched Rural Mission Sunday - a real opportunity for churches to celebrate who they are and give thanks for their community. This year the date for RMS is July the 17th, but you can mark this at any time over the summer to suit you and those you work with. This year the theme is 'Sow and Grow' so why not celebrate the seeds you sow as a church?
Sometimes we feel overshadowed in the rural church by larger urban churches. We don't always think that small churches 'do mission'. At the ARC we think differently. We feel passionately about the importance of small churches; we know they do mission and want to celebrate that fact.
Download your free Rural Mission Sunday 2016 materials below.
This guide will help you set the scene; construct your own activities using our Bible readings, prayers, ideas for talks to help you Sow, Grow and Celebrate with your community.
Every celebration needs eyecatching publicity and we've done the hard work for you! Download and print this colourful poster and add your own local details for date, time and place.
Once your celebrations have finished, you might like to look at some of our other resources and ideas to see if they will help you to reflect and move on. You can find some ideas and good practice examples here.
Support the Arthur Rank Centre at the same time!
The Arthur Rank Centre exists to encourage, inspire and equip rural churches as they engage in misson. Our work is entirely funded by donations from individuals and churches. You might like to use your activity as an opportunity to support our work here at The Arthur Rank Centre and as a result you will enable us to continue to stand alongside and equip rural churches for the tasks they are called to do.
NOTE: 2015 Rural Mission Sunday material is still available. Please get in touch if you would like us to share this with you.
