Rural Stress Helpline is a national confidential listening and signposting service for rural people run by the ARC. It operates from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an answerphone facility.
People call Rural Stress Helpline for all kinds of reasons which include depression, business or financial difficulties, bereavement, relationship difficulties, mental illness, loneliness and isolation.
Where possible, and with permission from the caller, we introduce callers to organisations that provide sustained practical and emotional support. This can be from a local source if it meets the caller’s needs.
We can also provide ongoing support, if necessary, until the difficulty is resolved or other help is in place.
